A recent contest at the club
~ItDoesNotHaveMe
recently closed, with incredibly powerful results.
The task, along with the main focus for the group's origination, was to express through art, the emotions experienced and all the PAIN that coming while enduring a physical or mental illness.
The task, (inadvertently being to bring greater awareness to these afflictions) was to release a burden as artists that they identify with as they go through their expression of "CathARTsis".

multiple personality disorder
[DID, formerly MPD, awareness]
this artists skill to depict such raw emotions is not limited to his entered submission to this contest. i've found these deviations to be just as moving and full of talent:

:
~xequemate

Catharsis
[affect of family illness; lung disease]
this artist is also filled with a talent for expression -- a sense of abstraction with clarity in his media. i've been strongly moved by these in his gallery as well:

:
~Anacorreal

Release
[serenity to illness and pain that holds you back]
this artist uses so many different mediums to express herself that, her gallery is sure to offer some star-quality pieces that speak to you as well. i've discovered:

I believe all these artists are deserving their honoring victories. May you pay them tribute and praise well-deserved.
I take my journal features seriously, you know I wouldn't promote anything not entirely worthwhile.
There were many other entrants, however, whom I feel also deserve attention and accolade also -- as the main purpose of this Contest and of ~ItDoesNotHaveMe was to bring both awareness and a release of angst that illness brings. Let's all be enlightened together, honor the pain, and work towards a remedy.
It STARTS with AwarenesS.

I believe in Jesus.

My entry is for all the people out there who are fighting mental illness.
